Come with me as I document my journeys, & work through the challenges of starting an online business from scratch. Starting out at the cool age of 52 has some interesting implications, mainly technology. However my broader business background is a great help. I have interests that are starting to take a more important role in my life decisions and where in the end some ideas and opportunities will lead. I like 5 star. You can too.
My goal is to help you, if you want to come with me on this journey.

Stinking Thinking? Fair Question ? Or are you a little indignant, and perhaps a little offended? Never mind. The intention is not to upset you. But, maybe this is worth a thought. What is it that you are thinking about when you wake up in the morning ? What is it you think about as you walk to the train station? Sitting at your desk? Making your lunch? Taking a shower? Sitting ? Waiting? Driving? Plus the many other things you could be doing each and every day.
The idea is that maybe many of us have been conditioned to think in a certain ways. This could be our education, our at home upbringing, and perhaps all helped by the twists and turns our lives have taken the people we associate with and the day to day influences. It really is a type of Conditioning. It begs the question if many of us feel w...
Hmmm.... That Headline may get me some bad press! Before you fly off the handle ...
I love Elephants and would never venture to hurt one in any way...nor encourage such. And no.. I will never ride one either... because I always feel saddened by the type of saddles used to sit on their back, they look cruel and painful and behind the scenes the Elephant has usually been treated badly and beaten with weapons to make it submit. Elephants are a beautiful and magnificient animal. So before condemning me, click on the photo below and see where it takes you, because if I got you to do that, I have opened the article to readers. Thank You...
Now for my actual real reason of the insidious analogy of the headline. It is to make a point about how we get started on something we think, or see, or feel, is...
As time goes by I realise it is not about just building a business. Your head and your heart have to be in the right place. So here goes, I have found in the past during the many times I have tried to build something and failed. Like my Nuskin business or any of the other many things... I am sure if you read anything about me you will know and see a list of the things I have done. Once it was an embarrassment. Today.... ah well every step of the way I was trying and each time I fell over I would get back up... dust myself off, and try again or try something else. Thing is... it taught me many things. Have to admit that for sure. Without these many life lessons, I would not be here today talking to you... and hopefully helping you past or over some of the Obstacles along the way.
How hard is it? Building a business from scratch on the internet. Easy ?? hahaha... I thought I had it made, after all, how difficult could it be. Learning all new terminology, how to get clicks, driving traffic The list was endless. See I thought I had covered everything on my list I was getting Amazon to dispatch the product. I was doing doing doing.... it was hard slog I had to learn a new loading system, build a website, I was travelling at the time, so a few days off here and there, then you have to start again. There was no continuity in what I was doing, and there were no rule books for how to make a good income. What I did have though was many people sending me the next coolest product to buy. Of course I thought it was the next great thing. I did find though that most of the...
When I first thought about choosing a new business, I had no idea where it would lead. My passion has always been renovating, housing design.....and my jobs have always been centered around the building industry, in some way, shape, or form. My varied resume is on Linkedin if you want to check it out. Soooo.. because that is my passion, I thought I really wanted to do something like that. However it would not fit into all the forms of my Business critera that I had built for myself.
Here is my criteria list:
1. No shop or office I have to go to every day.
2. No employees
3. It has to make me enough money to support me and my lifestyle
4. I want to travel lots more.. so it has to support this too.
5. I support children's foundations it has to allow me to grow that interest
If at first you do not succeed.... Pheeeeeew... Try again. and again and again. There is a saying about that. It is not how many times you get knocked down... It is how many times you get up. Personally I have to be heartened and happy for my failures. (there has been many). The reason is because it got me here to be the person I am today. Recently a neice put a post on face book. It went like this... I wish I had a delete button..in my life to delete some people, some memories and some feelings. Of course I did the usual Aunty stuff and answered with... Nope....Everyone of them is responsible for making you the Gorgeous Girl you are today. Fortunately she came back with a like on it.
With that in mind, How do you think? What do you think? Do you think positively? What are you saying...
Being the Apple of your Grandmothers eye and being the eldest grandchild, I loved going to visit for holidays. I loved talking with my Gran because I know she used to listern and was always full of fun. One of her favourite sayings was "Never burn your Bridges" I never used to understand that (I do now). If we were talking about something My Gran dreamed of having I would say when are you going to get this thing that you want.... My Gran always said "When my Ship comes in". I remember going to the sea side with her as a 4 year old and seeing a ship and asking if that was her ship coming in.... she would say she hoped so.
Now when I look back I wished her ship had of arrived for her. Maybe it did...
